3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup mayonnaise, light mayonnaise, or salad dressing
1 tablespoon snipped fresh Italian parsley or 1 teaspoon dried parsley, crushed
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
- In a small bowl stir together the 3/4 cup buttermilk, the mayonnaise, parsley, onion powder, mustard, pepper, and garlic. If necessary, add additional buttermilk until dressing reaches desired consistency.
- Cover and chill dressing for 30 minutes before serving. Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Stir or shake well before using.
- Makes 1-1/4 cups.

Prepare as above, except omit black pepper and stir in 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper.
Prepare as above, except cook 4 slices bacon until crisp; drain and crumble, reserving 1 tablespoon bacon drippings. Stir crumbled bacon and bacon drippings into dressing just before serving. Store in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Makes about 1-1/3 cups.
